This position will work in partnership with a Child and Family Health Nurse and in collaboration with the Aboriginal community of the Narrabri Shire to improve the health and wellbeing of Aboriginal children and families aged 0-8 years consistent with the Action Plan agreed to between Hunter New England Area Health Service (HNEAHS) and the Office of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health (OATSIH).

This program is funded by OATSIH (Commonwealth Department of Health and Ageing) and is guided by primary health and early intervention frameworks and strategies to positively engage Aboriginal communities.

This is a designated Aboriginal/Torres Strait Islander Position. Applicants for this position must be of Aboriginal descent through parentage, identification as being Aboriginal and being accepted in the community as such. Exemption is claimed under Section 14 of the Anti Discrimination Act.
