MEGT are currently looking for an experienced Commercial Cookery apprentice for an Award Winning restaurant in the Hunter Valley. This Winery Estate Restaurant boasts Modern Australian Cuisine with a European influence and is open for breakfast and lunch. It is an evolving menu with degustation and the successful candidate must already be an experienced apprentice.
The host employer is flexible with what year level the apprentice is however their culinary skills must match their prior experience.
The position has no split shifts however you will be required to work weekends and some night functions.
The successful candidate will possess a desire to learn, a high level of maturity and want to be part of a team!
Your duties will include but are not limited to:
- preparing ????? ?????, salads, stocks, sauces and soups,
- preparing ????? ?????, fruit, and eggs dishes,
- selecting, preparing ????? ????? poultry, seafood and meat,
- preparing ????? ????? cold desserts, pastries, cakes and yeast goods
- mise en place
- general cleaning and prep
