CORROSION ENGINEER > OFFSHORE AND ONSHORE FACILITIES > QATAR
My client is a Major Energy Operator for the Middle East region based in Qatar. Working on the largest Gas Project in the Middle East, this project involves the transport of gas from an offshore location to an onshore gas plant, to be distributed via subsea pipelines to other Middle Eastern countries.
Due to project requirements, an opening exists for an experienced Corrosion Engineer to be based in Qatar. It will be a long term position, with family status provided.
Scope of work
To coordinate and implement corrosion prevention and maintenance programs for all structures, vessels, pipe lines, platforms and equipment of the onshore and offshore facilities of Ras Laffan plant.
Requirements
- Bachelors Degree in Materials and Corrosion, Metallurgical or Mechanical Engineering
- Minimum of 10 years experience in Inspections and Maintenance in Oil and Gas
- Minimum of 8 years experience as Corrosion Engineer in oil/gas gas processing, refinery or petrochemical plant including both onshore and offshore facilities and sealines
- Strong communication skills in English
Responsibilities
- Responsible for all corrosion engineering ????? ????? activities including detection, mitigation and prevention for all offshore and onshore facilities in Dolphin Ras Laffan plant
- Ensures efficient and cost effective corrosion engineering ????? ????? services for all onshore and offshore structures, vessels, pipelines, platforms and equipment of Ras Laffan gas production plant
- Plans, coordinates and implements corrosion monitoring, prevention and maintenance programs
- Provides technical advice on strategies for repair and replacement specifications for various engineering ????? ????? modification projects, including all metallurgical aspects, repair techniques, materials selection, inspection and testing requirements, and makes recommendations based upon field observation and corrosion management principles
- Carries out performance evaluation of coating and painting conditions. Recommends best options for paint and coating systems to ensure optimum protection
- Monitors corrosion rate of critical process and production equipment, structures, pipelines, vessels and piping systems of the facilities
- Coordinates corrosion engineering ????? ????? management activities for offshore facilities including platforms and sea lines. Coordinates sealine inspections and intelligent pigging as necessary
- Participates in technical studies, PID reviews, Safety Integrity Level (SIL) assessments and HAZOP’s
