The Centre for Building and Furniture Studies within Box Hill Institute (BHI) is a leading provider of industry relevant training and assessment services across the eastern region and beyond. The Centre offers a range of articulated career pathways and training solutions in Plumbing, Carpentry (General Construction), Offsite Construction (Joinery/Stairs/Shop Fitting), and Cabinet Making.
The successful incumbent will be responsible for coordinating a structured and timely timetabling system that demonstrates maximum utilisation of centre resources to meet the needs of all programs within plumbing. You will also be responsible for organising any gap training for workplace apprentices and mature worker applications
Other aspects of this role will see you coordinate the efficient utilisation of allocated teaching contact hours and attendance hours in accordance with current MBA agreements, minimising reliance on casual teaching.
To be appointed applicants must have a relevant trade qualification, extensive experience, Cert IV in TAA and an AQF level teaching 5 qualification which includes supervised teaching practices.
Applicants must also possess outstanding communication skills, knowledge of quality assurance and the ability to write, design and lead in the development of assessment strategy tools.
