SE1 Operations � Furniture and Cabinet Making

  • $74,856 pa plus 9% superannuation

  • The Centre for Building and Furniture Studies within Box Hill Institute (BHI) is a leading provider of industry relevant training and assessment services across the eastern region and beyond. The Centre offers a range of articulated career pathways and training solutions in Plumbing, Carpentry (General Construction), Offsite Construction (Joinery/Stairs/Shop Fitting), and Cabinet Making.

    This position will have the responsibility for coordinating and managing the operations necessary for the delivery of flexible Furniture and Cabinet Making programs for local and international students. It will be essential that the person can work within Institute wide systems and practices to ensure accurate and timely information is available to teachers, students and employers. This position will include a teaching commitment of approximately 50% or individual responsibility for the achievement of an agreed annual RPL target.

    To be appointed applicants must have a relevant trade qualification, extensive experience, Cert IV in TAA and an AQF 5 level teaching qualification which includes supervised teaching practices.
     
    Applicants must also possess outstanding communication skills, knowledge of quality assurance and the ability to write, design and lead in the development of assessment strategy tools.
