Research Fellow Carbon Dynamics and Sustainability

  • The Opportunity
    We seek a researcher to undertake research in the area of carbon accounting and Life Cycle Analysis (carbon, energy and water) across two projects.

    • The first project is on evaluating the sustainability of second generation biofuels.
    • The second project is on contributing to carbon cycle science and accounting for Reduced Emissions from Deforestation and Degradation ("REDD") in South/East Asia.

    The Applicant
    The applicant should be highly motivated and have excellent organisational, reporting and communication skills. He/she should be able to work independently and manage their own priorities and time while working well in an integrated team environment. They should also be able to communicate effectively and willingly with staff at all levels. The position provides scope for, and encourages, independent input and ideas.

    The Benefits
    Remuneration package: $77,663 - $92,225 pa Level B (includes employer superannuation of 9%)

    This role is a full-time position, however flexible working arrangements may be negotiated.

    Duration
    Two-year appointment
    It is hoped the appointee can commence work in January 2010.
