Medical Laboratory Scientist
GRADE 2 – HAEMATOLOGY/MULTI-SKILLED
Part-time – 3 days/week
An opportunity has arisen for an experienced scientist with appropriate skills to share the role of deputy in charge of the haematology department in a multi-skilled laboratory.
Applicants will require signifi cant haematology experience with excellent morphology skills, in addition to competency in bloodbank and biochemistry. Previous supervisory experience would be an advantage.
You would be expected to possess:
➢ recent experience in an appropriate clinical laboratory
➢ a high level of problem solving skills
➢ a high level understanding of QAP, QC trouble-shooting, instrument maintenance, ordering ????? ?????/stores
➢ the ability to provide consultative advice to both clinicians and patients
➢ the ability to demonstrate an ongoing commitment to professional development And would be required to:
➢ Assist with staff management, training and competency reviews
➢ Participate in a roster included working as a multi-skilled scientist in the evenings/weekends ➢ Participate in the on-call ????? ????? haematology as required
➢ Manage the haematology laboratory in the absence of the Grade 3 Scientist
