The Underwear and Hosiery Group offers intimate apparel through well known brands such as Berlei, Holeproof, Playtex and Jockey. Holeproof is best known for its brands including Rio, Antz Pantz, Underdaks and Explorer Socks. Rio, one of Australia’s best loved underwear and socks brands, makes products that are fun, fashionable, comfortable and great value.  It costs less to live in Rio.

At Pacific Brands, we're famous for providing everyday essentials to Australia and New Zealand. As one of the leading marketers of consumer brands, our apparel, footwear and leisure and homewear divisions oversee an enviable stable of household names including Bonds, Berlei, KingGee, Holeproof, Sheridan and Tontine.

In this role you will develop new and innovative products that will support the range brief and ensure that we are market leaders. We are looking for a Product Developer to interpret fashion, consumer and market trends that are in line with the Rio brand.

In this role you will be required to:

  • Co-ordinate specification packs, sampling prototypes and costings to ensure that product development deadlines are met
  • Research globally the seasonal fashion and colour direction
  • Work closely with the Design Manager to develop innovative, volume, icon products into the business
  • Take responsibility for the fit, quality and total look all product
  • Communicate with overseas factories to improve product development lead time efficiencies
  • Work with the Product team to develop the range plan and ensure that the schedule for Product Development time lines are adhered to.

What experience and skills are we looking for?

To be eligible for this role you must have experience in a textile design role, a sound understanding of socks would be an advantage.

Strong written and verbal communication skills are key to the success of this role, and advanced Adobe Illustrator skills/ Adobe Photoshop Skills are essential.
