This nationally recognised logistics service provider is synonymous with advanced technology, innovative solutions and providing the highest levels of customer service to their blue chip clients. Due to growth they are now recutting for the position of Distribution Manager for a flagship facility based here in Melbourne.

Reporting directly to the General Manager this role will see you take full responsibility for the smooth and efficient running of the distribution centre. This will include all OH&S, P&L, IR and HR requirements whilst maintaining the highest possible service levels and being the sole interface for a major account. You will drive productivity through evaluating current working practices and in conjunction with the client, make proactive changes to maintain service levels. You must be able to set clear direction, performance targets and expectations to both a large operational group and a senior management team on a continuous basis.

Ideally you will be tertiary qualified and have an extensive warehousing background with FMCG products and you will be well versed in operational excellence within this field, including full P&L responsibilities. You must be able to demonstrate the ability to run business critical projects whilst maintaining the highest levels of service to clients. Experience with running Lean or Six-Sigma projects would be advantageous as would exposure to mechanised and RF systems.
