We require a Research Officer to be involved in conducting an audit of the Victorian Charter of Human Rights and Responsibilities. The research involves the development of a human rights audit tool for use with people with disabilities, a sample survey of the public in relation to human rights and interviews with key stakeholders. A secondary analysis of the human rights implications of existing data sets on exclusion and disadvantage will inform the audit work.
The research officer will be responsible primarily for the development of human rights indicators from secondary data sources, the development of a human rights indicator tool and collection and analysis of data. Additional duties will include literature searches and contributing to public events around the project.
As the successful candidate you will have established research skills and a relevant undergraduate or higher research degree in a social-science based discipline together with demonstrated experience in using statistical databases.
