Legal and Policy Unit - Legal Services Commissioner
The Legal Services Commissioner (LSC / Commissioner) is also the Chief Executive Officer of the Legal Services Board (LSB / Board). The Commissioner is the employer of all staff of the LSC and LSB.
The Legal & Policy group reports directly to the LSB CEO and contributes expert policy and legal advice to the Board, including the development and maintenance of regulatory and governance mechanisms of the legal profession. The Legal & Policy group provides high level guidance and assistance to legal practitioners, firms and to members of the public.
The Para Legal/Compliance Officer will be responsible for;
Providing high level and confidential paralegal and administrative support with particular attention to detail.
Providing advice and recommendations of appropriate legal courses of action in response to actual or alleged breaches of the Act and answer basic queries on compliance issues.
Researching, analysing and assessing evidence, reports and rulings relating to the Act and amendments including tracking developments and submissions, maintaining records of changes and informing the team of legislative changes.
Undertaking other paralegal, administrative and project activities as required.
Completion of a Law degree is preferable. Completion of articles or practical training not required.
