Leading Ruby house is currently looking for a Senior Ruby on Rails Developer to join their vibrant team.

You will:

• be a senior developer who is a player-coach
• be a top-tier web-engineer with Ruby-on-Rails experience.
• have experience building and leading high performance technical teams and designing scalable architecture.
• thrive on the challenges of a new project/team.

Specific responsibilities include: Hands-on development of critical parts of the application in Ruby-on-Rails, overall accountability for scaling the website, leadership and mentoring ????? ????? development team, Ruby on Rails application development including data modeling and design, ultimately responsible for the software production and keeping the website up … and going fast.

Skills:

• Everything from hardware, network engineering, operating system and hosting issues, MySQL database optimization, application development, HTML and even some CSS. You won’t necessarily be working deeply in all of these areas – but your staff will – and sometimes you’ll need to dip in.
• Experience (i.e. 3+ years) building large consumer facing e-commerce or social networking websites;
• Significant commercial experience (i.e. 2+ years) with Ruby on Rails, agile development and leading agile teams;
• Understanding and appreciation of the role of design and usability – it’s not just about the technologies;
• Significant experience with the process of examining ideas and working out the best way to execute them from the technical, user and business perspectives.
