Your role typically will be to establish and improve the relationship between a number of Technology groups within Telstra and the associated vendors who provide operational support services under maintenance & support agreements. You will work in conjunction with a large technology operations group who are seeking to achieve and maintain a world's best technology organisation. You will be required to interact with many Technologists and have a good understanding of Technology Networks & concepts, Process improvement, Business cases, ITIL and technical performance analysis, measures and reporting that ultimately lead to creation and implementation of new business strategies to improve service delivery, network performance and optimise the cost of the service support agreements. A key part of the role depends on excellent written and oral communication skills as you will be interacting with senior managers in many organisations, delivering ????? ?????, concise and accurate reports on the activities you undertake and the progress and results achieved. Specific Accountabilities - Provision of a set of standardised rules around engagement with Vendor Operational Management based upon the Technical interaction with the NS teams.
- Develop a roadmap of activities to improve on the Operations interaction with technology vendors and ensure there is a technology focus on issues associated with Network performance.
- Define and administer a set of high level dashboards to indicate progress against vendor CSA's and highlight any items that need senior management escalation.
- Interact with relevant operational teams to ensure that the appropriate focus is placed upon the deliverable performance of the vendor services provided.
- Demonstrated value add to Operations on the optimisation of the vendor support services including strategies to improve the long term Technical capability services provided by the vendor.
- Facilitate and participate in Technology lifecycle strategies to improve the long term services capability and business costs on different technologies currently being supported by vendors.
Specific Capabilities - Demonstrated effective communication, negotiation and stakeholder management to embrace and achieve Operations strategic direction.
- Be able to work on several high profile tasks at one time.
- Interact with senior management and peers on operational strategies towards vendors.
- Understanding and input to the financial management of the Operational services contracts.
- Have a key understanding of the Technical processes required to deliver support services and identify the critical support services in conjunction with Operations
- Be able to interact with Technical teams by having a very good working understanding of technology domains and networks to assess varied strategic directions for support of legacy platforms.
- Demonstrated technical capability shown by networking experience obtained by in working in an operational environment - Technology networks (example Broadband, PSTN, mobiles, Servers)
