My client who are well recognised within the financial services industry are embarking on a variety of large scale challenging projects and due to an increased work load are looking for an experienced senior infrastructure engineer. You will be joining a dynamic team environment where demands placed on time come from a variety of business units as well as being engaged on a variety of projects using cutting edge technology.   
   
Responsibilities:    
   

• Required to act as a high level technician for both internal IT projects and external business driven projects.  
  
• Design and implement new systems to improve the performance and efficiency of the organisations systems  
  
• Some out of work hours will be required from time to time to implement changes to the current operating environment  
  
• Perform 2nd and 3rd level infrastructure support as required  
  
• Act as an excalation point for all subject matter experts for infrastructure related systems  
  
• Adhere to ITIL framework standards  
  
• Other duties as directed  
  

  
The successful applicant will be highly competent in designs, planning and production implementation of the following core technologies:   
   

• VM/Ware- ESX host build, Datacentre, cluster configuration, template creations, virtual centre management  
  
• SAN- EMC Clariion/ Centerra, pools, RAID Groups, storage groups, LUN Management  
  
• Exchange 2003/ 2007- Clustering, replication, powershell, mailstore,Mailbox configuration  
  
• Netbackup 6.5.x-Installation, Master/ Media serve, staging, BMR, Client installs  
  
• Citrix 4.5/ Xenapp 5- Server/ Farm build, Application publishing/streaming  
  
• Active directory 2003/ 2008- Server roles, Powershell, Domain services  
  
• Server- RIS, Altiris, WDS, scripted server builds  
  
• Networking- Juniper/Cisco background, VLAN, Virtual Chassis, Junous software  
  
• Redhat/ Linux- Managing users/ groups, file systems, maintenance etc  
  
• ITIL- Incident mgt, problem mgt, change mgt & release mgt  
  
• Documentation/ Mentoring- Ability to mentor, and document policies  
  

  
   
Qualifications & Experience:    

• IT Degree qualified preferred  
  
• Financial services experience highly desirable  
  
• 5+ years systems engineering ????? ?????  
  
• To ability to liase with stakeholders on all levels, both technical and non technical  
  
• Proven trouble shooting ability  
  
• Ability to prioritise and excellent time management skills
