MS SQL Database Administrator

Our client is looking for a highly skilled MS SQL Database Administrator to join their team! You will be working within a newly transformed dynamic IT operations division so it is perfect timing to be coming on board. Previous experience working within large environments and exposure to ITIL practices is a benefit to you.

This position will be working across both BAU and project based work and you will be responsible for a large number of productions systems and associated development. 

Key responsibilities for your position include installation, configuration, maintenance and the ability to secure SQL Server and components. You must have previous experience in the following as you will be required to complete database backups, capacity management and implement SQL server security in conjunction with Windows security. 

Excellent communication skills, problem solving skills and the ability to engage with others is a key component with this position as you will be required to provide assistance to other teams within the business.  

Skills you must have......  
- Must have expertise in Microsoft Database products (SQL Server 7, 2000, 2005, 2008, Clustered SQL Server, Server Manager, Profiler)
- Good knowledge and understanding of other Databases (Oracle or MySQL)
- Strong knowledge of storage technologies such as SAN, NAS and direct attached disk
- Extensive experience of Windows NT / 2000 / 2003 / 2008 server Administration
