Exciting Opportunity
You will be working in the Pain Management Clinic for Older Persons. You will be undertaking the following duties:
• Assess and formulate a management plan for patients admitted to the Pain Management Clinic for Older Persons in conjunction with other members of the multidisciplinary team;
• Ensure that accurate and relevant patient documentation including progress notes, treatment sheets, and discharge notes are completed, and undertaken within the approved timelines;
• Communicate assessment and management decisions to the appropriate GPs, other referrers and care staff involved in their patients’ medical care;
• Participate and develop research projects and contribute to those already established within the Department. This research will necessitate the development and maintenance of alliances with research units both within and external to St Vincent’s;
• Participation in at least one quality improvement activity of the department and ensure completion of all information required for clinical audits and clinical indicators;
• Ensure Consumers have a high level of satisfaction with the service and are aware of their rights, responsibilities and how to provide feedback on the service provided;
• Have a role in ensuring ????? ????? of clinic resources including development and monitoring ????? ????? protocols; and
• Maintain Health and Safety in the workplace ensuring ????? ????? all safety and training requirements as per St Vincent’s policy.
Key Selection Criteria:
Skills that the incumbent must possess include:
• Clinical Psychologist, registrable in Victoria
• Specialist knowledge and clinical skills consistent with an expert in the field of chronic pain management for older people
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Commitment to improving performance
• Proven organisational skills
• Ability to manage and prioritise workload
• Ability to work autonomously and within teams
Desirable skills include:
• Higher qualification in a related area.
• Demonstrated expertise and leadership in both Aged Care and in Pain Management
