Occupational Rehabilitation Consultant (Physical)

 

 

The Company

 

Our client has been assisting individuals with their rehabilitation and safe and sustainable return to work since 1988. Their specialist occupational rehabilitation team, restore, is a registered provider for the Victorian WorkCover Authority, Comcare and the Transport Accident Commission.

Their aim is to:

• Assist clients to remain at or return to safe, suitable employment

• Provide clients with the necessary skills and information to manage their injury/ illness at work

 

Primary Objective

Provide solutions based occupational rehabilitation and associated services to customers of the organization, including – WorkCover, Comcare, TAC, Income Protection, Self Insurers

 

Qualifications and Pre-requisites:

•  Degree in Occupational Therapy or Physiotherapy, or relevant tertiary  qualification

• Current registration as appropriate

• Current motor vehicle licence and access to own car

• 1-3 years experience

 

Technical Competencies

•  Planning and organising injury management activities for prevention of injuries, rehabilitation following injury and for individuals return to work, involving all key parties

• Understanding and utilisation of case management principles and concepts preferably within an Occupational Rehabilitation setting

• Ability to assess workplaces, identify suitable duties and change environments to prevent injuries

• Oral presentation skills

• Written presentation skills eg report writing, proposals etc

• Demonstrated customer focus

• Competent at using Microsoft Word, Outlook email, with some understanding of Excel and PowerPoint

 

Professional / Personal Competencies

• Demonstrated ability to manage own time, priorities and workload factors

• Demonstrated knowledge and experience in problem solving, conflict resolution and counselling

• Broad understanding of OR in context of employer HR / IM needs and Agents key drivers
