The Housing and Finance Advisor role (two positions) will enhance the student experience of RMIT students by providing individual consultations, group programs and information materials in a range of formats, related to financial and housing support and will liaise, consult and collaborate with a range of external and internal stakeholders to enhance the participation and academic outcomes of students. The advisors will work in strong collaboration with other Student Services to enhance the overall wellbeing and student experience.
This role will assist students in relation to financial, housing and welfare matters. The successful candidates will have sound knowledge of community service sector and relevant legislative frameworks, including Centrelink benefits and appeal processes, and experience in providing support services to students.
Experience of working with people from diverse cultural, social, ethnic and educational backgrounds is essential together with a high level of interpersonal and written communications skills, including cross cultural communication skills and report writing.
Proven ability to prepare and conduct workshops and seminars and capacity to work collaboratively in multi-disciplinary teams is also essential.
To undertake this role you will need a degree in Social Work, Welfare Studies, Youth Work or related discipline and relevant experience.
