Major Accounts Manager

“…core functions around strategic relationship management, customer solution delivery and the drive for mutual business growth…”

With a customer base comprising a core group of very high value national/international FMCG companies which it supports assiduously, our client is the pre-eminent “player” of its kind in the Australasian market.

Reporting to the General Manager Sales & Marketing, this important additional position will manage our clients’ relationship with two major direct customers in a way which will elevate their brands, expand market volumes and drive mutual growth.  The revenue responsibility exceeds $50m.

While there is a central requirement to understand the customers’ brands, markets and needs for innovation around new products, you will also nurture multi-tiered relationships within the customer organisations, develop the sales and marketing plans which will secure new business and act as the customer advocate at technical, commercial and operational levels within our client’s business.

Other key functions will be to formulate strategic insights, innovative value selling arguments and relationship development plans from research and high level analysis of quantitative market data, to manage customer NPD programs and to lead/participate in critical market driven business projects.

While exposure to dynamic FMCG or packaging markets and competencies in marketing, brand building and NPD processes may be advantageous, of  more importance is your ability to cultivate and manage cross-functional customer relationships both operationally and strategically and, through this, to deliver outcomes of best mutual value.  You will therefore be a serious thinker and someone who is highly skilled in planning and financial/numerical analysis, commercially astute and professionally convincing.  Appropriate formal qualifications, perhaps even at post-degree level, are anticipated.

The salary package, which includes car and management incentive, is both attractive and open to negotiation for high impact candidates who offer our client distinct long term succession potential.
