Due to a solid sales and business pipeline for the next five years as part of increasing global demand, this company has created the position for an After-Sales Manager. In this role, your responsibilities will involve managing field support services including commissioning, site audits, maintenance, warranty, client training, and overseeing the management of spare parts. A key new focus will be upon developing the after sales business, particularly service and maintenance agreements, and developing the after sales team. Your direct reports will include the spare parts manager, the service/spare parts coordinator, a technical support engineer, and three commissioning engineers. You will also have significant access to the shared resources of 12 project engineers.
Our client is a manufacturer and supplier of heavy industrial solutions to the energy sector, whereby they supply fixed capital equipment that involves modular heavy mechanical systems with bespoke automation and controls to global clients for major energy projects. Based in Melbourne, their current projects are based in Western Australia, Japan and Russia, among others. However, this role will not involve more than 1-2 weeks travel per year. This company has very low staff turnover, with many staff having more than 10 years tenure. As the ideal candidate, you are a talented professional who may be from a variety of different industries. However, the key criteria includes experience and a successful proven track record in client service delivery, team leadership, and account management. Furthermore, you have the ability to think strategically, particularly in the ability to set priorities based upon commercial outcomes and customer value. A background in fault finding for industrial communications or instrumentation systems would be advantageous, as would a background in industrial sales.
