Lecturer Department of Occupational Therapy

  • The Opportunity
    The Department of Occupational Therapy at Monash University wishes to appoint a Lecturer at Level B, dependant on experience, to further develop and implement an undergraduate curriculum in occupational therapy, with a particular focus on occupational therapy fieldwork education. The appointee with develop research agendas and gain project funding to implement that agenda and will already have a track record in winning significant competitive research grants and of publications in relevant professional journals.

    The successful candidate will be required to coordinate the department's fieldwork program, and also be required to teach undergraduate units in programs offered by the school, perform a range of academic administrative functions in the Department and the School and participate in community affairs related to the discipline in professional, government, commercial and industrial sectors where appropriate.

    The successful applicant will possess a PhD or Master's Degree in a relevant field, a primary qualification in Occupational Therapy, a knowledge of contemporary educational procedures including case-based and problem based learning and on-line teaching environments, high level of written and verbal communication skills, teaching experience at tertiary level and the ability to work collaboratively and constructively with colleagues at all levels.

    The Benefits
    Remuneration package: $83,363 - $98,994 pa Level B (includes employer superannuation of 17%)

    This role is a full-time position, however flexible working arrangements may be negotiated.
