Expectations
This position requires an enthusiastic and committed teacher with qualifications appropriate for the teaching of Art and Visual Communication at VCE level.

Duty Statement
The general expectations of the position are those outlined in the Victorian Government Schools Teacher Class Handbook and listed in the Appendix.
Typically, duties include:
• the direct teaching of groups of students and individual students
• performing other non-teaching supervisory duties
• participating in activities such as parent/teacher nights, staff meetings, camps, excursions and the broader College program
• contributing to the development and implementation of College goals, priorities and curriculum
• participating in College decision making and professional development activities

Selection Criteria
1. Academic and Method studies in Art and Visual Communication together with the ability to teach Art and Visual Communication to VCE Unit 4 level.
2. Demonstrated sound knowledge of the relevant key learning areas including the Victorian Essential Learning Standards and VCE study designs.
3. Demonstrated understanding of how students learn and effective classroom teaching strategies and learning technologies.
4. Demonstrated ability to monitor and assess student learning and to use this information to reflect upon and improve the quality of their teaching.
5. Demonstrated ability to develop constructive relationships with students and to foster positive attitudes to learning.
6. Demonstrated ability to actively contribute as a member of the learning area and to a broad range of College activities.
7. Demonstrated high level communication and interpersonal skills when relating to students, parents and staff.
