The School of Applied Science, which is part of the College of Science, Engineering ????? ?????, incorporates teaching areas of traditional and applied sciences as well as new century discoveries and innovative research. Reporting to the Pro Vice Chancellor, the Dean of Science will lead the School of Applied Sciences, define the strategic direction of the School and ensure an integrated approach is taken to maximise commercial viability. You will have responsibility for integrating activities to plan and develop programs to meet the needs of students, industry and outcome related research. This will involve maintaining close relationships with national and international industry and professional bodies, participating in key forums and undertaking specific projects and tasks. You will also be responsible for providing leadership across the academic, quality learning and research environment in the school, as well as, managing the School’s resources. You will be a member of the College executive and be committed to the collegiate activities of the College.
This critical position requires strong leadership, a global vision and significant professorial experience, in areas relevant to Applied Science. You will have a proven ability to build and foster research. Strong leadership skills and demonstrated experience in both resource management and management and development of academic, technical and administrative staff are also essential to your application. With exceptional communication skills and strong strategic planning experience, you will be able to facilitate change whilst working in a complex environment.
