Master/PhD Scholarship - Mathematics Education

 



We are looking for an experienced, innovative primary classroom teacher who would like to build a career in teacher education in the School of Education. Ideally, you will be recognised as an effective teacher of numeracy and literacy and a knowledgeable, confident communicator who has had some experience in curriculum leadership and/or professional learning teams.

To support you embark on this career change we have a four-year, full-time scholarship for a research Masters or PhD study in the area of primary mathematics education. While the exact topic is open to negotiation, we are particularly interested in researching strategies to support diverse mathematics learners in mixed ability classrooms, effective instructional strategies, and the development of the ‘big ideas’ in primary mathematics.

The work will be based at the Bundoora Campus and some teaching will be available to supplement the scholarship.

Requirements: A high standard of academic excellence in your initial teaching degree/qualification and evidence of further professional learning and effective classroom practice. Preference will be given to applicants with a Masters degree or some progress towards a Masters degree. Only citizens of Australia or New Zealand or permanent residents can apply.
