The Opportunity
The Centre for Health Economics (CHE) at Monash University, Australia, has been at the forefront of health economics teaching and research in Australia for 15 years. As one of the largest concentrations of senior health economists in Australia, it has a strong track record of research, teaching and community service. The CHE is an integral collaborating organisation with Austin Health, providing the health economics expertise, in a Sleep Health in Quadriplegia (SHiQ) Program.
We are now pleased to invite applications from suitably qualified individuals for training scholarships in the economic evaluation of health care interventions. The training scholarships are associated with a 5 year Victorian Neurotrauma Initiative (VNI) Program Grant that will address how the sleep health of people with quadriplegia can be assessed, managed and improved.
A tax-free scholarship of up to $30,000 per year of full-time candidature will be provided to the successful applicant (subject to eligibility requirements). Opportunities to undertake supplementary paid research and/or teaching work at the Centre for Health Economics may also be available (depending upon qualifications and experience).
The successful applicant will undertake a tailored training program in the economic evaluation of health care interventions comprising: study towards a higher degree by research (Masters or PhD), advanced coursework in trial-based and modelled economic evaluation, and hands-on work experience in trial-based economic evaluation.
