The Transport & General Prices Oversight Branch has responsibilities that include prices oversight (such as postal services and intellectual property) and the regulation of transport sectors (such as monitoring ????? ????? and access to rail track and bulk wheat port facilities).
 
Salary:     $68,307 to $76,561 (plus 15.4% superannuation)
 
The occupant of this position will:

 
  • conduct analysis and research into regulatory and competition issues in a range of industries and areas such as transport, postal services and intellectual property
  • assist with research, analysis and reporting in relation to the ACCC's regulatory functions pursuant to Parts IIIA and VIIA of the Trade Practices Act 1974
  •  prepare discussion papers and reports and participate in major projects such as price inquires and assessments.
 
Applicants should have good analytical skills in economics, law or related fields and a sound understanding of industry structure, competition and efficiency issues. Appropriate tertiary qualifications are desirable; preferred disciplines are economics, finance, commerce and law.
