Strategic Projects Planner

As the Strategic Projects Planner you will be responsible for providing high level professional advice and guidance to Council and the community in relation to strategic planning, strategies and policies, local area plans (including structure plans) and urban design projects that enhance the diverse communities on the Peninsula.
The position is also responsible for coordinating planning scheme amendment processes that implement these projects.
The successful applicant will possess a tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline, however not limited to, strategic and statutory planning, urban design, architecture or landscape architecture. Post graduate or other additional training in environmental studies, environmental law or economics will be highly regarded. Some post qualification professional experience in strategi and statutory planning, urban design or built-environment project management will be an advantage. Applicants with backgrounds other than strategic and statutory planning or urban design should be able to demonstrate an understanding of the principles of planning and architecural design in relation to issues that face the Mornington Peninsula.
