Senior to Supervisor Accountant in Business Services - $70K to $80K

The Role:

 

An opportunity currently exists for an experienced Senior Accountant or a newly promoted Supervisor of Business Services in the South of Melbourne’s CBD Fringe.  In this Boutique Partnership, you will be responsible for managing a portfolio of your own clients whilst reporting to the Manager and/or Partner.

 

Working as a Supervisor in Business Services, you will be responsible for more than just the financial accounts and compliance matters of your clients.  In addition to:

 

• Preparation of financial statements
• Preparation of interim accounts (where required)
• Preparation of income tax returns
• Preparation of BAS and GST compliance

 

You will also:

 

• Liaise directly with your client base as their advisor and the primary contact
• Offer various advice regarding both tax planning and tax minimisation
• Offer business development strategies

 

Along with:

 

• Supervision of junior staff
• Delegation and responsibility for junior accountants
• Review of said work
• Mentoring ????? ????? of junior staff

 

You will work on a variety of clients of various structures including companies, partnerships and trusts, predominately SME’s but you will also be given exposure to some very large and wealthy groups.

 

Scope exists, if you so desire, to gain exposure in Self Managed Super Fund accounting as this practice has a successful SMSF client base.

 

Also on offer will be the opportunity to gain valuable training and exposure to Audit.  If you so desire, you will be given the opportunity to spend some time in addition to your primary role as a Business Services Supervisor to participate in various sized Audits directly with the Partner.

Necessary Qualifications:

 

In order to be considered for this position, you must have:

 

• Minimum of 5 years local Public Practice experience
• Completed Australian tertiary studies
• CA or CPA or close
• Some supervisory experience is a bonus but not essential, you will be trained

Salary:

 

Range between $70,000 and $80,000 package will be offered to the right applicant and is dependant on your prior experience and qualifications.
