If this sounds like you, then you are encouraged to apply for this Revenue Specialist role in our Technical Advice and Review Branch. You will be rewarded with a variety of tasks including interpreting and applying State taxation legislation; providing expert advice on the application of legislation to taxpayers and their advisers; and contributing to the development of rulings, publications and materials for staff training and public seminars.

  • High level interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills with an ability to work effectively with all levels of staff, stakeholders, peers, industry bodies and other government agencies to gain co-operation, influence views and meet timelines for delivery of advice.
  • High level research and analytical skills with the ability to challenge policies and professional concepts and modify and apply concepts to new situations that may impact beyond the immediate work area.
  • Ability to prepare technical reports and provide written technical advice at an advanced professional level.
  • Demonstrated experience in the interpretation and application of legislation in a complex legal, and commercial environment.
  • Ability to interpret and apply business plans and policies in own area of responsibility and provide advice to others on implementation issues.
  • Ability to participate in the preparation and delivery of internal tax training and external speaking engagements.
