As one of Australia's leading publicly listed food companies, this business has a portfolio of iconic consumer brands. Headquartered in Melbourne and Sydney and employing over 7000 people in Australasia and the Pacific Islands, they supply products to over 30,000 outlets every day.
Their Melbourne operations currently require a technical account manager to join the team, within the bakery products division.
Providing technical / sales bakery support to both distributors and end user bakeries the key responsibilities for this position will be to manage margin, volume & customer service levels to their account portfolio. This will be achieved through effective forecasting, pricing, profit improvement initiatives and the managing the day to day account issues. Involving both account management and new business development, this represents a fantastic opportunity for a professional with a strong knowledge of bakery products to work with a large, blue chip corporation.
Key attributes of the successful candidate will include:
- Knowledge of bakery products (this role would suit an ex-baker). A broad understanding of the food services and / or bakery market.
- Strong sales capabilities (past sales experience is an advantage but people with strong natural sales acumen will also be considered.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills.
