Director of Qualitative Research

  • Our client is a leading Australian full-service Market Research agency who are seeking a Director of Qualitative Research to ignite bigger business impacts.

    The key objectives for this new role are:
    • To deliver superior strategic qualitatively driven insight and consultancy
    • Enhance the agency's market offer by developing, deploying and training new qualitative techniques and thinking frameworks (IP and training)
    • Work with other senior qualitative practitioners in the business to keep at the leading edge of qualitative research (strategic focus)

    Key responsibilities include:
    • Generating and delivering superior strategic qualitatively driven insight in the Australian and international markets
    • Consulting (both internally & externally) on projects to ensure actionability and maximum business impact of insights and thinking
    • Working with research teams to create proposals to ensure a uniformly professional approach to clients
    • Guiding analysis to ensure the effective and efficient generation of consumer insights
    • Presenting, workshop facilitation and deployment of insights to clients in Australia and internationally
    • Providing day to day mentoring of researchers to ensure the standard of qualitative skills is of the highest order
    • Participating in and driving training to support on going skills development
    • Supporting the generation of qualitative IP and its subsequent use by clients
    • Keeping in touch with developments on the latest methodologies, frameworks and approaches and implementing these into the agency where relevant

    The successful candidate for this key role will need:
    • 10 years + experience in Qualitative Research
    • A First Class Degree in a relevant subject (Commerce, Marketing, Psychology etc.)
    • Post graduate qualifications in Marketing, or other relevant discipline, would be desirable
    • The ability to lead, inspire and challenge a team of market research professionals
    • To develop the team's qualitative skills through on-the-job and specific training programs
    • To articulate concepts and strategic plans in a clear, concise manner
    • Above all, to be motivating, proactive, empathetic, adaptive and diplomatic.
