We are working with Australia’s number one business in their particular industry, looking to recruit a very talented UI Designer.
 
The person we're seeking is a creative, team-oriented individual with experience in online web design, communication, information architecture and user interaction.
 
To succeed in this position, you will understand the principles of corporate/commercial website design, information organisation, user behaviour and have a passion for all things online.
 
Primary responsibilities will involve:
 

• Be responsible for producing finished wireframe concepts that represent the brands site and delivers an exceptional user experience
• Development of wireframes for the BA/PM to annotate business rules.
• Generate exceptional UI designs
• Assist the development team in implementing the design
• Promote a design best practice within the team
• Work collaboratively with the direct team members and the rest of the Product Management team
• Develop easy to user navigation that’s accessible and logical
• Recommend improvements to existing designs if necessary
• Work collaboratively with UI/Product team members and the wider Technology team.
• Gain a strong understanding of target audiences' needs, tasks, goals and translating them into creative concepts.
• Work closely with BA/PM’s to translate business requirements into meaningful interactive experiences – Assist emerging user research, concept testing, and usability testing
• Where needed develop prototypes for demonstration of concepts to the business
• Contribute ideas and input to the overall development of the website and the Web Development group in general.
• Assist in interface development (HTML/CSS)

 
Requirements:
 

• 3-4 years commercial experience in a UI role.
• Must have experience producing wireframes from scratch using Visio or Fireworks.
• Solid experience with and understanding of retail user interface design, e-commerce design and application design.
• Solid understanding of the latest web technologies.
• Extremely detail-oriented and organised, with strong visual design and layout skills.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team.
• Ability to work on aggressive deadlines on multiple/simultaneous projects
• Ability to create wireframes that consider web browser compatibility.
• An online portfolio that displays a sensibility for clean, clear, elegant and intuitive design/user experience.
• Technical minded but able to work across disciplines, consider business issues, think strategically and consistently.
• Export knowledge or key design applications – Fireworks, Photoshop, Flash, etc.
• Ability to understand and hand code HTML and CSS
