Technical Design Architect (Infrastructure Focussed)

Primary UNIX focus but whole of infrastructure experience required

My client is looking for a Technical Design Architect (Infrastructure focussed) to join their team on a permanent basis. You will provide technical expertise for the architecture, design and build of Enterprise Systems and Operating environments.
Ideally, you will possess many years of experience with Enterprise Unix and Windows Systems coupled with experience at a Senior/Architecture Level. You will have developed a thorough understanding of the process lifecycle, project management methodologies and have a mentoring ????? ????? provides guidance and leadership. This role will require you to handle multiple projects at the same time, and be the key liason between the 'key' teams which sit within the Operations area.
An ability to put your stamp on the required and overall result is mandatory; Leading, Mentoring, Directing and a willingness to say 'NO' if required, are key components in which this fast-paced, globally focussed and heavy hitting organisation are looking for.
To be considered for this role you will possess the following skills and attributes:
Senior level experience with UNIX Operating Systems, ideally Sun Solaris
Senior level experience with Windows Operating Systems including Desktop and Servers
Extensive working knowledge of UNIX services (Enterprise Services / Enterprise Storage Systems)
Extensive understanding of HA and DR systems
Senior experience with IT infrastructure components, such as SAN, Networks, Firewalls, Data Centres
Architecture and design of solutions for the implementation and management of infrastructure technologies
Extensive knowledge with network and security systems including TCPIP, WINS, DNS, Firewalls etc.
Extensive software knowledge, both in commercial and bespoke applications
Strong desire to keep abreast of the latest technologies
An understanding of ITIL
Strong communication skills
Ability to work with and mentor/manage large teams
