Ozford is an international College located in the Melbourne CBD. Students at Ozford can improve their English skills in the Ozford English Language Centre, complete a course in the Ozford Business College or attend the Ozford High School to complete their VCE.
Our team currently seeks an experienced trainer and assessor to deliver the Certificate IV in Training & Assessment (Cert IV TAA).
Specific Duties include :
Daily organisation:
- Demonstrating effective teaching practices;
- Teaching of timetabled classes;
- Setting and assessment of regular homework;
- Assessment of student work on a regular basis;
- Detailed planning of assessment tasks, including marking schemes;
- Reporting student results. This includes communication with the Head of V.E.T. on a needs basis for monitoring of student progress;
- Formal reporting of student results each term;
- Teaching extra classes on a needs basis as allocated by the Head of V.E.T.;
- Responsible for effective communication between staff and students;
- Recording daily lessons in teacher’s weekly and unit planners in the curriculum folder provided;
- Attending V.E.T meetings as scheduled.
Curriculum:
- Delivery of current curriculum according to V.E.T Training Package in course area;
- Reporting to the Head of V.E.T. the resources and ideas gained through professional development and sharing ideas with other staff.
Student Management:
- On-going development of curriculum in course area, including provision of detailed curriculum outlines for each course area;
- Implementing and self managing curriculum review on a regular basis or as instructed by the Head of V.E.T.;
- Ensuring the efficient and effective delivery of curriculum;
- Completing a professional development plan at the commencement of each year, as well as PD Evaluation forms after each completed professional development session;
- Ongoing professional development
- Ensuring student academic performance is maximized;
- Build a positive rapport with students;
- Monitoring student academic performance closely and make recommendations to the Head of V.E.T.;
- Implementing student polices outlined by Ozford College in relation to student attendance;
- Discipline students within the classroom and report incidents to the Head of V.E.T. in writing via an Incident Report;
- Implement strategies to motivate student learning;
- Be familiar with the appropriate forms for student management and make use of them if necessary.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
- Cert IV in Training and Assessment with current teaching industry experience;
- Knowledge of training packages;
- Well developed computer skills;
- Previous experience with international students;
- Superior communication skills-professional appearance.
