The Compliance & Technical Services unit provides compliance and risk management support to internal clients within the Group. A permanent opportunity now exists for an experienced Compliance and Risk specialist to apply their skills to operational risk and compliance and high level policy development.
 
Reporting to the Compliance & Technical Services Manager, you will enthusiastically embrace the opportunity to contribute to the development and ongoing management of risk and compliance policies and processes in a manner that embodies excellent and efficient customer service for Superannuation Income Stream, Non-Super Investment Fund and Eligible Rollover Fund products and staff.
 
Your responsibilities will be many and varied including:
 
  • Provision of advice and analysis on legislative, regulatory and licensing issues relevant to the business units
  • Providing assurance to Management and Board on status and effectiveness of the compliance program
  • Avoiding losses from systemic compliance errors
  • Promoting understanding of and commitment to compliance within the business
  • Assisting with the operation  of various compliance reporting and management tools / registers on behalf of client  business units
  • Taking on compliance projects as required
  • Reviewing and editing various marketing and compliance publications against legislative and regulatory compliance requirements
 
This exciting role will offer you the opportunity to expand on your existing knowledge of the financial services industry which is likely to have a particular focus on superannuation and managed funds, whilst working in an open and friendly team environment. In addition to your industry understanding, you have exceptional time and project management skills, are a team player who takes a pro-active approach and have the ability to multi task. You are RG 146 compliant with a strong attention to detail with a flexible approach to changing work practices.
 
A candidate with the following traits will have a distinct advantage:
 
  • A demonstrated ability to communicate effectively from shop floor to Board Room
  • Experience with the relevant regulators in the superannuation and managed investments industries
  • An understanding of and affinity with the Industry Fund and “all profits to members” segment of the marketplace
