Electrical Controls Systems Engineer - $90K - $125K
Hardware & Software design, building installation, commissioning & support Complex and special purpose machinery Melbourne
This emerging leader provides advanced technology for complex and special purpose machinery. Due to expansion and improving their services they now require an engineer to ensure optimum effectiveness for their automated facilities for PLC and PC controlled ROBOTIC APPLICATIONS and machinery.
You will provide high level technical development, implementation and support of hardware and software for control systems projects. You will report to senior management to prioritise workflow enhancements, safety and project outcomes to Australian Standards.
Your responsibilities include:
- Hardware & Software design, building installation, commissioning & support
- On-site design and fault-finding work
- Scheduled maintenance & repairs
- Site performance & quality audits
- Risk & documentation
- Safety and risk assessments
- Coaching, operation training, technical assistance & providing customer training
- writing documentation and manuals
You qualifications and experience will include:
- Electrical Engineering degree
- Advanced with PLC's and PC software skills
- 5+ years experience in PLC programming is essential with TwinCAT, RSLogix500 and RSLogix5000 or similar.
- At least 5 years of previous industrial experience involving programming of Automated and/or Robotic Equipment (Beckhoff, Allen Bradley, ABB), or similar technology.
- Experience with industrial networks (Profibus, DeviceNet, EtherCAT, EthernetIP, ASi, etc)
- Specialist knowledge of HMI programming applications required. RSView, WinCC and Wonderware etc.
- Specialist knowledge of Robotic applications desirable (ABB, Motoman)
- Ability to develop / troubleshoot Ethernet networks is required, including IEEE802.11 wireless.
- Proficiency in developing .NET applications would be beneficial.
- Knowledge of Australian Safety Standards and understanding of safety category ratings is essential.
- Management training exposure would be advantageous
- Ability to understand electrical control systems circuits.
- Understanding of electrical / mechanical concepts such as power ratings, current calculations and cable sizing is desired
- Ability to design in detail the electrical circuits for a system is highly regarded.
- Use of AutoCAD is essential.
