For the past 30 years this organisation has been at the forefront of their industry in the supply of engineering services including the design, development and manufacture of Aviation Fuelling equipment and systems.  The design team located in Melbourne is the primary service provider for end to end engineering solutions, predominantly for specialist refuelling vehicles and pumping modules to clients both locally and internationally.

Due to the growing demand within the Aviation and Defence industries that this company provides engineering solutions to, they now require the services of an experienced Mechanical Engineer to assist in the development of their current engineering team.

Reporting to the Engineering Manager the successful applicant will be primarily responsible for the technical design and detailing of fuel handling systems and directing less experienced engineers to ensure on-time project delivery.  In addition you will also be asked from time to time to guide other members of the engineering team in managing their own projects to further develop their project management skills as well as assisting other departments with relevant technical enquiries.

 In addition to being a professionally qualified Mechanical Engineer, you will be required to demonstrate: 

• Design experience with SolidWorks 3D is preferred, experience with other suitable 3D Engineering design packages will also be strongly considered
  
• Experience in designing:
  - Pneumatic Circuits
  - Hydraulic Circuits
  - Piping & Pressure Vessels
  - Low Voltage Electrical Systems
  
• Experience with the following Australian Standards is also highly desirable:
  - AS2809 
  - AS2430
  - Australian Dangerous Goods Code

Strong verbal and written communication skills are a must for this position as is the ability to work effectively with technical personnel in the manufacturing & fabrication teams.  In addition, design experience in the petroleum or other hazardous chemical industries will be highly regarded.  The salary for the successful candidate will be negotiated commensurate with your relevant experience.
