An inner suburban municipality in Melbourne's southeast is currently seeking an experienced Traffic Engineer to assist with a backlog of traffic and transportation demands, over a contract period. Whilst working within an enthusiastic team, you will demonstrate your ability to handle a broad range of issues relating to traffic, and provide guidance and insight to less experienced members of the team.

As the successful candidate you will have responsibility for a variety of diverse traffic engineering areas and work with a small and energetic team of traffic engineers and transportation officers. You will have a good understanding of municipal traffic and parking management issues, and be able to successfully implement measures of reducing hazardous zones and improving traffic flow and congestion. Reporting to the coordinator Traffic Management, your core duties will be providing consistent service delivery in the traditional local government traffic issues, however being a senior in the team, you will also be expected to demonstrate a superior level of problem solving and management.

Candidates will be the holders of a civil engineering degree and a current Victorian drivers license. Ideal candidates will come from a traffic operations background having work for consultancy, state or local government.
