The Department of Primary Industries is seeking an enthusiastic person with experience working with the Aboriginal community and strong strategic and analytical skills, to assist with incorporating Aboriginal community interests and culture in the management of Victoria's fisheries.

In this role you will:
• Manage and co-ordinate policy development projects on Aboriginal participation in fisheries management and fishing industries.
• Consult with Aboriginal groups around Victoria to inform Fisheries Victoria and DPI policy.
• Monitor National and State policy developments in Native Title and Aboriginal affairs.
• Provide advice and prepare reports and correspondence on fisheries issues.

To be successful you will have knowledge of Victorian Aboriginal culture and society, including experience working and communicating with Victorian Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal community members; strong strategic, analytical and conceptual abilities; understanding of policy development processes and legislative procedures and highly developed interpersonal, communication, negotiation and consultation skills.
