Port of Melbourne Corporation (PoMC) is the strategic manager of Australias largest container and general cargo port. Responsible for the integrated management and development of land and maritime functions including the ports property and assets, shipping channels, commercial navigation and associated infrastructure, PoMC is charged with managing its operations in a sustainable manner to ensure it continues to provide economic and community benefits now and in the future.
The Business and Planning Division is responsible for making and recommending key decisions affecting short and long term land use patterns and the built form of developments on port lands and interface areas. To support the planning functions within this division they require a planning professional to assist in coordinating land use and approvals.
Working within this specialist team, the position offers a unique variety of planning challenges. The primary responsibility of the role is to assist with the management of community and local government relationships as well as various external suppliers and stakeholders. The functions include statutory planning such as assessments and approvals and the development and implementation of strategic directions, systems and administration of planning activities.
