This privately owned, established and diverse organisation has business interests in corporate training, property development and land holdings amongst others. Due to a restructure foreshadowing an exciting growth period, our client is seeking the services of an experienced Finance Manager. This person will have strong business acumen and so while performing a hands-on Group Accounting function and driving the reporting process, will also assist the company owner with strategic financial planning.

Based on Melbourne's picturesque city fringe and reporting directly to the Chairman, you will manage a small team of local and interstate support staff and ensure the month/year end reporting process is completed in a timely and accurate manner. You will also be required to drive the budgeting process and ensure costs are kept low and reduced wherever possible.

A dual role in nature, you'll be involved in the day-to-day Accounting activities such as budgets and reporting, while also being the liaison with external Accounts auditors. You will have the opportunity to introduce new value-add initiatives and play an integral part in the business's strategic planning and growth strategy.

As the successful candidate you will be CA or CPA qualified and possess sound technical accounting skills combined with the ability to have a positive strategic influence on a growing organisation. Experience with property investment will be held in high regard. Some knowledge of different entity structures will assist, as there are a large number of activity types including companies, trusts, foundations, and there are various philanthropic and communal activities under management.
