With a number of GIS projects underway we are looking to an experienced and suitably qualified GIS Officer to assist in the delivery of these projects on an ongoing basis. You’ll be developing and maintaining land and property information and geographical information systems that support the planning activities of Council. The broad range of responsibilities includes:
- Operating and maintaining Council’s GIS in order to provide advice and information
- Working with the team to provide graphic and cartographic information when required
- Keeping abreast of industry trends and changes to make business based recommendations on GIS technology
- Updating the relational database as required with changes in the 149 certificates
- Analysing statistical and land based information for presentation purposes
To be successful you will possess:
- Advanced diploma in Geographical Information Systems, Land Information Systems or equivalent
- A good working knowledge of MapInfo and Exponare
- Sound knowledge of relational databases
- A drivers licence
- SQL database experience is highly desirable
The salary range is between $1,079.82 to $1,160.81 per 35 hr wk (subject to skills and experience) plus superannuation.
