Joining the management team of this well established, family owned and operated Transport company represents a once in a lifetime opportunity to combine developing a career, with the enviable lifestyle of the NSW Far North Coast.
Employing 125 staff and operating 100 vehicles across six major sites spanning Sydney to Brisbane, our client is an innovative and progressive transport operator, who has a strong reliance on technology for cost effective communication between its sites, customers and drivers.
They currently have an excellent opportunity available, based at their Head Office in Lismore, for a suitably experienced IT professional to be responsible for the overall function, operation and further development of the Company’s IT network and systems. This role requires a hands on approach, combined with sound technical skills to advance the Company's IT profile and enhance their competitive advantage.
Applicants must possess excellent client service and communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment to deliver results.
Key Position Requirements:
Current experience in a similar role in a commercial environment, including:
- Proven ability in formulating, implementing and managing the overall broad direction of IT requirements and policy
- Demonstrated experience in implementing and maintaining IT systems
- Experience in network management
- Knowledge of the Windows Server 2003 platform
- Experience with Sunfire V 240 and Solaris Unix V 10, running an Informix Database
- Demonstrated experience in supporting Microsoft applications
- Strong customer focus, communication and interpersonal skills
Desirable Position Requirements:
- Tertiary qualifications in the IT field (or equivalent)
- Experience providing IT services within a transport industry environment
- Knowledge of Access Databases
- Understanding of TCP/IP protocol
- Knowledge of VOIP integrated data network
- Knowledge of Crystal Reports software
The position is based in the regional centre of Lismore. The Centre has a full range of facilities and services including a University, several hospitals and specialist medical facilities and numerous public and private schools. Lismore is ideally situated close to popular North Coast beaches (including Byron Bay) and World Heritage National Parks. It is within two hours drive of the Gold Coast and Brisbane.
