The Northern Midlands Council is seekingapplications from suitably qualified and experiencedpeople for the following position.PLUMBING INSPECTOR /PERMIT AUTHORITYThe position is responsible for the following areas: To ensure that plumbing work carried out in themunicipal area is executed in accordance with therequirements of the Building Act 2000, theTasmanian Plumbing Code, the TasmanianPlumbing Regulations, the Local GovernmentAct, the Sewer and Drains Act and AS/NZS 3500. To act as a Permit Authority to ensure buildingworks are processed in accordance with theBuilding Act 2000. To assist professional staff in the administrationof their duties including the inspection of buildingworks for compliance with applicable legislation.It is essential that the applicant is able to workwithout direct supervision and hold a currentdrivers licence. Relevant experience in theoperations of Council is desirable. The salary will bebased on experience and qualifications.
