Possums' is seeking an experienced, qualified and highly committed individual to be the Director and Authorised Supervisor of this commmunity based non profit service as a contract position for 1 year commencing January 2010.

Possums is a long day care centre operating Monday to Friday 7am - 6pm for 50 weeks of the year (2 week close down over Christmas). It is licenced to enrol 64 children per day catering for children from birth to 5 years. There are 3 rooms, 0-2's, 2-3's, and 3-5's. Possums operates with 14-15 primary contact staff per day in total.

Criteria:

* qualified Early Childhood Teacher (Bachelor of Teaching/ Education, Masters in ECE)

* experience as an authorised supervisor/ director/ assistant director

* comprehensive understanding of and ability to comply with the Children's Services Regulation 2004

* comprehenseive understanding of and compliance with legislative requirements - OHS, Child Protection, NSW curriculum framework, Early Years Learning Framework, Accreditation

* Ability to manage a diverse team with varying qualifications, backgrounds, experience and responsiblitiies

* confident communication and leadership skills

* high level of professionalism and initiative

* exceptional time management skills

There will be a one month handover between the current director and successful applicant.
