Director - 1 year contract to commence January 2010

Possums' is seeking an experienced, qualified and highly committed individual to be the Director and Authorised Supervisor of this commmunity based non profit service as a contract position for 1 year commencing January 2010.

Possums is a long day care centre operating Monday to Friday 7am - 6pm for 50 weeks of the year (2 week close down over Christmas). It is licenced to enrol 64 children per day catering ????? ????? from birth to 5 years. There are 3 rooms, 0-2's, 2-3's, and 3-5's. Possums operates with 14-15 primary contact staff per day in total.

Criteria:

* qualified Early Childhood Teacher (Bachelor of Teaching/ Education, Masters in ECE)

* experience as an authorised supervisor/ director/ assistant director

* comprehensive understanding of and ability to comply with the Children's Services Regulation 2004

* comprehenseive understanding of and compliance with legislative requirements - OHS, Child Protection, NSW curriculum framework, Early Years Learning Framework, Accreditation

* Ability to manage a diverse team with varying qualifications, backgrounds, experience and responsiblitiies

* confident communication and leadership skills

* high level of professionalism and initiative

* exceptional time management skills

There will be a one month handover between the current director and successful applicant.
