The Reject Shop store support office is seeking an aspiring ????? ????? accountant to work in the finance department of this Top 300 ASX Listed company.

The Reject Shop is one of the fastest growing and most profitable Discount Variety retailers in Australia, now operating more than 170 stores nationwide.

 

Reporting to the Financial Accounting Manager key responsibilities of the role  include;

 

• Administration of Fixed Asset register including creating, disposing and reporting on fixed assets (incl. internal orders, preparation of workings to support claims under the Capital Tax Allowance Legislation)
• Assist in the preparation of monthly board reports
• Preparation and reconciliation of weekly management reports (incl. wages, FX)
• Performing month end tasks (incl. reviewing GL accounts, preparing & posting journals, payroll tax)
• Performing general ledger reconciliations on a monthly basis
• System maintenance (retail sites, chart of accounts)
• Ad hoc requests (incl. preparation of credit apps, ABS reports)
• Assistance in other tasks as required by the Financial Accounting Manager & Chief Financial Officer

You will have 2 – 3 years practical work experience, hold a Bachelors Degree in Commerce (or equivalent) or will have commenced on intend to commence the CA / CPA Programs. SAP exposure would be highly beneficial though not essential.

 

Given the nature of the role, it is integral that you possess excellent communication and administrative skills, together with proficient knowledge of word and excel. Your excellent time management coupled with your attention to detail and ability to work as a team player are also necessities.
