An excellent opportunity has become available for a motivated and suitably qualified Product Manager with an established distributor of scientific research equipment and instruments.

The Company

Based in Sydney’s inner west, this technology business has been in operation for over 25 years, and specialises in the sale and support of a range of high technology equipment and instruments to research related industries.

Due to ongoing growth and a forecast growth throughout 2010, they currently have a vacancy for a suitably qualified individual to join their team in the capacity of Product Manager.

The Role

Answering ????? ????? Sales & Marketing Director, the Product Manager will be responsible for sales and support of a range of scientific instruments on a national basis.

You will be responsible for identifying new potential customers who may have a need for your products, along with keeping existing customers informed and educated on developments in technology and upgraded or new products.

Your key customers will predominantly be research laboratories within institutions and industry, and you could see yourself working across a myriad of industries, including defence, pharmaceuticals, medical, mining, among others.

As this is a national role, a moderate level of travel is to be expected.

The Person

We are seeking a highly motivated, well presented, and professional individual who holds either a Bachelors degree or PhD in an area of science or engineering ????? ????? given you an exposure to physics and/or photonics.

Preferably you will have a minimum of two to three years experience in industry or research, and are familiar with how laboratories or institutions buy their equipment.

Sales or marketing experience is not essential, however will be highly regarded.
