The National Electrical and Communications Association (“NECA”) is the peak national body representing contractors and others associated with the electrotechnology industry. We are affiliated with similar organisations in the United States, Pacific Rim and European Union.

 

We are establishing a new training business to service our members and the industry in NSW and the ACT and are looking for an innovative educator with a minimum of 3 years experience who is prepared to develop and execute training options designed to meet the needs of our members and the wider electrotechnology industry. The position reports to the General Manager of the organisation.

 

In this role you will be responsible for reviewing course frameworks, investigating and recommending improvements to the educational products on offer and leading the development of new and innovative products and delivery methods to meet the needs of NECA’s diverse membership. You will be an outcomes-driven individual with strong relationship development skills and a customer .service approach to your work.

 

The successful applicant will be required to have at least the following:

 

  • TAA40104 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment
  • VETtrak experience desirable
  • Demonstrated experience/working knowledge of AQTF 2007 and the National Code
  • Be able to manage the day to day and related activities of the RTOs educational delivery obligations
  • Be able to work with the RTO management and the teachers/presenters and assessors on the development of innovative courses, learning and assessment strategy, lesson plans and teaching material, assessment plans and assessment tools.
  • Be able to liaise with stakeholders including, but not limited to DEEWR, VETAB, DET, ACPET, State ITABs, private industry organisations, staff and contract trainers.

 

Your previous involvement in training in the electrotechnology and/or building and construction industry will be an advantage in this position but is not essential

 

Your key responsibilities include:

 

  • Researching training options
  • Coordinating the selection, programming and delivery of courses and management of presenters/trainers/assessors
  • Liaison with NECA members and stakeholders to develop and refine courses offered to achieve innovative outcomes.
  • Coordinating the development of training calendars and preparing budgets and business plans
  • Coordinating compliance by trainers with statutory and administrative responsibilities to ensure that the organisation meets its legal and financial obligations.
