Our client is a telephone and online crisis counselling service for anyone in NSW who has experienced sexual violence. They are community based non government organisation and its work is underpinned by feminist principles and practice. You will be working in a fantastic, friendly close knit team with a flexible approach.

They’re looking for a qualified and experienced counsellor who has an availability to work across all shifts as the Centre operates 24/7.

Essential

• Commitment to the provision of excellence in counselling service provision.
• Demonstrated ability to incorporate feminist perspectives within counselling frameworks.
• Social Work, Psychology, or Counselling Degree.
• Minimum two years (full time equivalent) counselling experience.
• Detailed understanding of the causes and consequences of sexual assault.
• Computer literacy.
• High level availability across all shifts
• Participation in Centre provided supervision, and attendance at the monthly team meetings, held on Wednesdays from 4.00pm to 8.00pm

Desirable

• Demonstrated ability to provide therapeutic services in a culturally appropriate way.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Experience working with traumatized populations.

Conditions include five weeks annual leave and participation in the Centre’s award winning Vicarious Trauma Management program.

To be female is a genuine requirement under Section 31 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1997.
